An Afternoon Run

Going for a run in the cold yesterday, I decided to bring my phone along, so I can take pictures of the running route I usually use. Like many things in Hobart, it dominated by the view of Mt Wellington and Wrest Point is always a landmark.

I'll miss this quiet route, which never fails to reward me with its views of Sandy Bay, the city, Wellington and the Eastern Shore.

Wrest Point Casino from Churchill Ave:

Houses are built on the slope, giving most people good view of the Derwent:

Early in the run, a long torturous slope:

The setting sun behind me, going down behind Mt Wellington:

At the top of the slope, at Red Chapel Ave, with teh first good view of the Eastern Shore of the Derwent:

Looking down across the houses of Lower Sandy Bay from the upper reaches of Churchill Ave:

The Eastern Shore, as viewed from along Churchill Ave:

Wellington, as viewed from towards the end of Churchill Ave:

The Eastern Shore, from Alexandra Battery:

The paradoxically-named Long Beach:

Onto Nutgrove Beach:

With Wellington in the background and Wrest Point in the forground:

Up from Nutgrove Beach, onto Sandy Bay Road, into the sun:

Towards Wrest Point Casino, a welcomed sight:

Turning into Uni grounds, across from the yachts of the Derwent Sailing Squadron:

Up Earl Street, along the ruby ground:

Wellington, from Earl Street:

Almost there, just up this pedestrian bridge:

And these flight of stairs:

To there:

Done, typically just over 40 minutes:

This, too, I will miss.
